First Fruits Sunday School

Angela Crofoot - Music Director

Angela CrofootAngela Crofoot has been at VOP since 1994 and has taught Sunday School since 2000.  She comes to us with lots of talent, playing guitar, piano, flute, organ and singing.  She has a degree in Music Therapy and is currently working at MacPhail School of Music in their Early Childhood Department.  She also teaches private lessons at home - piano, flute and music therapy.  Angela and her husband Jim have three children who are very active in church, music and other activities.

Angela say’s she loves to teach Sunday School music because, “it gives the children a chance to experience music while learning about God.  There are a lot of fantastic songs to use live music with to help the children learn about values, morals and Jesus.”

One of her favorite versus is,

Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs.
Psalm 100:2

Courtney Brumbaugh - Teacher

My husband GregCourtney and son Jaxon have been members of Valley of Peace since 1995.   I’ve been blessed to share my passion of teaching young  children in our Sunday School program for the last 4  years.  My personal educational journey started at  Waldorf College and I pursued my teaching degree from  Augsburg College.  Currently, my favorite and most  important title is being “Jaxon’s mom”.  I have the  pleasure of coordinating an early childhood program for St. David’s Child Development & Family services.  At Rasmussen College I teach Child Development courses and have the privilege of helping prepare early childhood educators.  Jesus loves all his little children and so do I.  I’ll continue to teach remembering John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”  How blessed we are.

Gina Swenson - Teacher

Let the Children come to me

This picture reminds me of the picture I
used to stare at as I went to sleep as a child
at my Grandparents house.  Gina Swenson

Gina has been a VOP member since 2001 when she joined with her Husband Erik and baby.  Since becoming members, Gina and Erik have added 3 more beautiful children to thier family.

Gina lists her favorite hobby as KIDS.  She has been a teacher for 12 years in St. Louis Park and teaches  First Grade at Aquila Primary Center.

Why Gina likes teaching ~ "Children are AMAZING! and I hope to inspire the 'LOVE of learning' at a young age."

One of Gina's favorite verses is,

"Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them."
Mark 10:14-16
