Baptisms
The Sacrament of Holy Baptism makes use of water and God's Word to give us birth into the death and resurrection of Jesus and into the community of the crucified and risen Lord (aka the Church.) It's a wonderful celebration for the whole community, as the baptized person is surrounded by family, sponsors [God-parents], and the local congregation. Baptism is a highly personal celebration, but it is not private. It is in and for the whole community. At Valley of Peace we like to celebrate the Sacrament during our regular worship services. Adults who are seeking baptism should contact Pastor John to begin a time of conversation and instruction. Adults who are seeking baptism for a child should contact us about membership at Valley of Peace, and then we will schedule the baptism. It is important that the person who is being baptized is actively involved in the congregation, for the purpose of Christian nurture and support. To schedule a baptism, please call us at 763-588-4611 or email us. |
